Career Concluding Championship Bookends Ellie Lindberg’s Success

After a long and successful career in the Jr Dragster categories, Ellie Lindberg victoriously ended the 2025 season as the Champion in the Jr Lightning category. 

Lindberg, from Lindstrom MN, started her farewell season in style by winning the first three events in Jr Lightning.  Unfortunately, after a midseason slump that saw her winning three rounds across seven events, she found herself needing a performance at the final two events to secure the championship.  Fortunately, a performance she found, winning the penultimate event and securing a final round appearance at the last race of the season to lock in her championship.  Lindberg finished her career with four event wins across six final round appearances in the 2025 season to take the championship over 2^nd place Skylar Bremer and 3^rd place Claire McDonough.

While the competition is tough on the dragstrip, the friends help make the experience more than the passes. “We go from best friends working on each other’s cars to competing against them on the track, then back to hanging out afterwards”, said Ellie. “The family atmosphere we all have makes going to the track the best experience!” For Ellie, one of her best experiences came from winning the Summit Racing Equipment Jr Dragster Challenge in the Jr Street category on her 16^th Birthday! After 10 years of competing in the Jr Dragster category, Ellie Lindberg now sets her sites forward to the next journey. “My family and I have been working on a Chevrolet Nova we bought from the west coast for me to compete in this year.” said Lindberg. Ellie was quick to thank a number of great people that helped her through her racing career.  “Looking back, I really want to thank great partners like Nic Woods Racing, JR Race Car, and North Branch Synthetics.  While they helped me race competitively, I really want to thank my Mom and Dad, older brother Joe, as well as the Weiler and McDonough family. Also, I really want to thank my grandpa Paul for being the ORIGINAL Lindberg Drag Racer that started this all!” said Ellie.
